Event Details:

The museum held our 1st Girl Scout Day Open House. A couple of hundred Scouts and their parents toured the collection in three different groups. After the tours, the group was treated to pizza and drinks and then had ride-a-longs in Porsches thanks to the Porsche Club of America Space Coast Region!

AMCM Owner Mark Pieloch's tour covered the front showroom as well as a performance from Melbourne City Ballet Theater. Their 15-minute performance was great as always.

Jerry Frye covered the main room of the collection, talking about the history of the wide variety of cars in the room. Afterward, three cars were available to take photos in and with including an Indy race car, a NASCAR, and a giant pink shoe!

Ed Dedick covered the maintenance shop, the grounds and solar panels, and talked about the ongoing autocross outside. It takes a lot to keep the cars in shape, and the Scouts had many questions back in the shop. A video was produced by a couple of the Scouts about the dangers of texting and driving, which was shown on a projector in the wash bay.

Overall, it was a great day all of which wouldn't be possible with our great AMCM volunteers and the Space Coast Region of the Porsche Club of America. Thanks to everyone and look forward to having this event next year. Take a look at what went on!
