Video Description

American Muscle Car Museum's Jerry Frye talks about the collections 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. This is the first year for the Impala, as well as many other design elements. To celebrate the 50 years of GM production, each brand introduced a new anniversary model and Chevrolet got the Impala. Also for 1958, Chevrolet models were longer, lower, and wider. Our car is one of 55,989 convertibles built with an additional and 125,480 coupes, making up 15 percent of Chevrolet production for that year. Our car is in Rio Red with a Tri-Tone Interior. It has the W-Block 348 CI V8 engine with the Tri-power setup making 315 horsepower. This is sent through a Powerglide transmission into a Positraction rear end. This car is heavily optioned with air conditioning, power steering and windows, convertible top, and the continental kit. It has had a body off restoration and even scored 990/1000 points at the National Classic Chevy Show. Check out the video for more information on this excellent Impala.
