Video Description

One of the highlights in the MOPAR section of the collection is this 1969 Dodge Charger 500 Hemi. Built to satisfy NASCAR homologation rules for the 1969 season, Dodge quickly realized that the aerodynamic enhancements used on the 500 would not be enough to remain competitive with cars like the Ford Torino Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II. Only 392 of these cars ended up being built, with this one thought to be the only Charger 500 in Ohama Orange.

In this video, AMCM's Ed Dedick touches on some of the history of the Charger 500 and NASCAR, and some history on our unique car. This limited production Hemi-powered car will also be featured in the upcoming book Muscle Car Limited Edition by CarTech sometime this fall.
