Gallery Description
On the drive north to attend The Amelia Concours this past weekend, we made a stop in Jacksonville to visit the Brumos Collection. If you have even a passing interest in Porsche history, racing, or beautifully preserved automobiles, it is absolutely worth the visit. Somehow, we had not made it there before, so this year we planned a stop at the museum on our way north.
The 35,000-square-foot facility tells the story of the legendary Brumos racing program and the people behind it, but it goes much deeper than that. The collection includes early brass-era automobiles, significant race cars, and some of the most iconic Porsche competition machines ever built. The presentation is excellent, with thoughtfully curated displays that make it easy to learn about the history of these important vehicles.
If you find yourself anywhere near Jacksonville, I highly recommend making time to visit the Brumos Collection. It is one of the best Porsche-focused automotive museums in the country.
A special thank you to Jerry King, who generously took the time to share his knowledge and stories about the cars and their history.
