The Great Race - Amarillo, Texas

Day four began with the Great Race rally group leaving Oklahoma City and continuing west toward Amarillo, Texas, mostly along the old Route 66. The nearly 300-mile drive took racers through Elk City, Oklahoma, where the group stopped for lunch at the National Route 66 Museum.

 

Other highlights included the iconic Conoco station in Shamrock, Texas, and a drive through McClellan Creek National Grassland. While the rain let up for lunch, most of the day was still wet. By the evening, the group gathered in Downtown Amarillo, though teams were allowed to leave early due to incoming severe weather.

 

The Revology Boss 429 was great, and didn't mind the downpours! Here is a look at day four, right around the halfway point of the Great Race.
