In 1990, Chevrolet released the ZR-1 package for their Corvette. The ZR-1 was not a separate model but an expensive option. Starting with the base Corvette, the ZR-1 option added $27,000 to the cost of the car, totaling $58,995. Of the 23,000 plus Corvettes built in 1990, 3,049 optioned this package which was only available in coupe form. The LT5 engine made 375 horsepower, up 125 on the standard L98 5.7L. Upon release, magazines raved about its performance, even against the most expensive cars in the world. 0-60 mph times ranged from 4.5 to 4.9 seconds, and the top speed was around 175 mph.

Our car is an ultra-low mileage first-year ZR1 with less than 50 original miles. It is in a Polo Green Metallic and is one of 105 cars built that year in this color. The interior is Saddle Leather and also comes with dual removable roof panels. When sold new, it had a sticker price of $60,650 and was sold out of Future Chevrolet in Aberdeen, New Jersey.
