The Z/28 package got you a lot for $573. Now available was the LT1 350CI V8 engine from the Corvette. Using solid lifters, 780 cfm Holley four-barrel carb, aluminum pistons, and an 11.0:1 compression made for 360 horsepower. It would also be the first year an automatic was available in the Z/28, our car uses the M22 four-speed manual instead. Add in the suspension and tire upgrades, and you have a very well rounded performance muscle car.
